Actually yeah that's a good one. I ask if people read books and which ones, I ask for their thoughts and allow them to give me a brief analysis of each book they mention to draw out that narcissistic pseudointellectual side of them.

Then I don't even have the courtesy to let them know it didn't go well for them after they leave.

I'm a bit torn with this one.

Half of me thinks it's a really pompous thing to do, the other half can see exactly what you're on about.

What would you pick between someone who's highly qualified and obviously efficient with a good work history but who says they don't read, and someone who seems thick as shit and who says they read Harry Potter, Twilight and 50 Shades of Grey?

Re: Any one ever conducted an interview?
I advertised a job at the jobcentre in Dagenham. At the time, long term unemployed had to get proof that they were looking for work, so used to demand a compliment slip or business card or they would lose their benefits.

Had one bloke turn for a job as a van driver and he was so pissed he walked across the office sideways and crashed into my desk.

I think he probably posts on here and has a degree in astrofizzicks.

My mate runs a Warehouse, they were after Van Drivers & Forklift Operators, the Jobcentre sent 3 candidates, all with no driving licence! Fucking shambles!

By the way, also ask them what books they read and question them on the detail of what they have read.

I don't hire anyone who doesn't read books. It's a marker for someone who's not interested in self-improvement.

Two things I notice apart from overall smartness of dress which would rule someone out from me giving them the job within the first few moments of seeing them.

If their shoes aren't polished/scuffed and if they wear a watch on their right wrist.

Oh and now if they wear an Apple watch at all.

Re: Any one ever conducted an interview?
my mate managed a halfords store, and used to interview people with the assistant manager. they had a code which indicated the interview would be coming to an end, by asking the person which car they drove.

he said once some bloke came in and looked an absolute state. as soon as he sat down my mate asked him which car he drove. think the interview lasted about 2 mins.

It's the sensible thing to do. You don't want to work with no Fugly

Of course it also weeds out the dispicable racists - ay Gavros?

I'm not that clever Mr P and as a fairly shy fella with women I've never met, I was probably more nervous than them as completely out of my comfort zone.

Just stuck her name into the internet and good to see the first two pictures are of her the tart.

Grumpster

When I'm interviewing I'll always try to check them out on social media before inviting them to an interview. That way only the best looking ones get through.

Re: Any one ever conducted an interview?
HR made me interview two people once for a role with me (I'm in Compliance and had never interviewed in my life before), so I asked a load of pointless questions to both and then as HR knew nothing about my job and what their answers meant I told them the name of who I thought was better.

I just picked the fit one even though she wasn't as good and then carried her for a year as she was useless but good to look at.

If you had to pick a football team consisting of eleven different animals, what would they be and what positions would they play?
